Study permit cap for PEI’s international student population

The University of Prince Edward Island’s interim president expresses concerns over Canada’s study permit cap, fearing it could impact the institution’s international student numbers. Despite the potential for increased enrollment, challenges remain as not all accepted students choose to attend. With a cap set by Immigration Minister Marc Miller, PEI is allocated slots for 2,000 new international students across its colleges and universities. UPEI aims to adapt its enrollment process to ensure higher conversion rates and maintain international student enrollment levels.
