Ottawa announced $65 million in funding to improve settlement services

On May 11, 2023, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) provided over $65 million in funding extensions to service provider organizations nationwide to continue important settlement services, which include services for racialized newcomer women, pre-arrival services, and language training for newcomers in French-speaking minority communities. With this funding, service provider organizations can deliver services to newcomers more efficiently, maximizing their economic and social integration. In addition, pre-arrival service investments support newcomers and families joining Canada’s diverse communities while strengthening Canada’s economy.
