Ottawa expanded settlement services for newcomers and refugees in Prairies

On May 12, 2022, the Government of Canada announced the expansion of the settlement services for newcomers and refugees in small and rural communities across the Prairies. Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) stated that an investment of more than $14 million has been made in this settlement initiative to expand critical settlement services and resettlement capacity in Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Manitoba. Through these services, the Government will help newcomers with language training, employment, and connection to their communities to help them integrate into the Canadian society.
