Ukrainian refugees coming to Canada due to the current conflict will likely return to their homeland when the war is over

According to Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), Sean Fraser, the overwhelming majority of Ukrainians who want to come to Canada don’t want to stay and will likely go back when the war is over. The Minister also added that this was one of the main reasons why the Government of Canada allowed “unlimited” numbers of Ukrainian nationals to come to the country. The Ukrainian-Canadian community also confirms that many Ukrainians coming to Canada from their war-torn homeland do not want to settle in Canada.
