Newfoundland and Labrador continues supporting Ukrainian nationals

After Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, over 2,700 Ukrainians have arrived in Newfoundland and Labrador. Almost three-quarters arrived independently, with more arriving weekly. Of those, 1,600 have found permanent housing, and 296 have found accommodation in the last month alone. In addition, over 280 employers across the province have provided work opportunities to nearly 600 Ukrainians. Additionally, about 400 are studying English as a Second Language, and over 500 Ukrainian students have been enrolled in K-12 schools.
