New Brunswick increased the minimum wage to the highest in Atlantic Canada

On January 30, 2023, the New Brunswick Government increased the minimum wage to $14.75 per hour, which will be in effect on April 1, 2023. The current minimum wage in the province is $13.75 per hour. This is the third $1 per-hour increase to the minimum wage over the last 12 months. In 2022, the province temporarily suspended indexing to ensure minimum wage earners receive a livable salary and improve the quality of life for 19,000 such workers (representing 5.7% of workers in the province).
