More and more Muslim immigrants settle in Newfoundland and Labrador

On October 3, 2022, the Ministry of Immigration, Population Growth and Skills of Newfoundland and Labrador recognized October as Islamic History Month. Gerry Byrne, Immigration Minister of the province, joined with the Muslim Association and highlighted the expanding role of Muslim communities. Since the early 1980s, Muslim communities in Newfoundland and Labrador have grown immensely. Muslim families come from all corners of the world and have become one of the fastest-growing groups in the area, with more than 7500 Muslims living throughout the province.
