IRCC approved 50 entrepreneur applications through SUV in January 2023

According to recent data from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), 50 immigrant entrepreneurs were granted permanent residence in Canada through the Start-Up Visa (SUV) program in January 2023. This is close to the number in January 2022, which was 55. In January, Ontario welcomed 20 immigrant entrepreneurs, British Columbia accepted 15, Alberta ten, and Manitoba received five entrepreneurs through the SUV program. Under the SUV program, candidates can first obtain a work permit supported by their designated Canadian investor before their permanent residence application is processed. The application for permanent residence through the SUV program is estimated to take 33 months.
