Canada’s immigration rate is skyrocketing, with around 275,000 new permanent residents

This year, Canada’s rate of immigration is growing at an unprecedented rate, far exceeding expectations. And if immigration continues at this rate, 471,394 by 2022 – which would be a 16.1 percent increase from last year’s record number of 406,025 new permanent residents. Ottawa’s Immigration Levels Plan for 2022-2024 had anticipated 431,645 permanent residents would arrive this year, with the numbers increasing to 447,055 next year and 451,000 in 2024.
