Canada to require COVID-19 test from Chinese passengers

In light of the current COVID-19 outbreak in China, on December 31, 2022, the Government of Canada announced a temporary negative test requirement for all those entering from China, Hong Kong and Macao. This measure will help ensure safety as there is very limited information regarding epidemiology and viral genomic sequence data collected from China. Therefore, as of January 5, 2023, 12:01 a.m. EST, all travellers aged two years and above coming from China, Hong Kong or Macao via air travel must present evidence of their negative COVID-19 test result to enter Canada.
