Move to Atlantic Canada with a Job Offer
Apply for Permanent Residency Through the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP)
Looking to settle in one of Canada’s beautiful and opportunity-rich Atlantic provinces? The Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) allows skilled foreign workers and international graduates to apply for permanent residency with the support of a designated employer.
At Cougar Immigration, we guide you through every step—matching you with employers, handling the paperwork, and ensuring a smooth path to settlement in Atlantic Canada.
What is the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP)?
The Atlantic Immigration Program is a fast-track immigration pathway designed to attract skilled talent to Canada’s four Atlantic provinces:
- Nova Scotia
- New Brunswick
- Prince Edward Island
- Newfoundland and Labrador
It is employer-driven, meaning you need a valid job offer from a designated employer to apply. Once approved, you and your family can live, work, and stay in Atlantic Canada as permanent residents.
Who Can Apply Under AIP?
You may qualify for the Atlantic Immigration Program if you:
- Have a valid job offer from a designated Atlantic employer (no LMIA required)
- Have at least 1 year of work experience in the past 5 years (some exemptions for graduates)
- Meet language requirements: CLB 4 or higher in English or French
- Meet education requirements (minimum high school diploma + ECA if educated outside Canada)
- Show sufficient settlement funds (if not already living and working in Canada)
- Plan to live in one of the Atlantic provinces
Graduates from eligible institutions in Atlantic Canada can apply without work experience under the AIP International Graduate stream.
