Canada launches new permanent residence program for home care workers

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced plans to introduce new permanent residence pathways for home care workers, set to begin on March 31, 2025. These innovative “Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots” will replace expired caregiver programs, allowing eligible workers to receive permanent residence upon arrival. Key eligibility requirements include CLB level 4 language proficiency, Canadian high school diploma equivalency, relevant work experience, and a full-time home care job offer. The initiative falls under Federal Economic Pilots, which has been allocated 10,920 immigration spots for 2025.
