CBSA has lost track of 30,000 deportees

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has lost track of approximately 30,000 individuals slated for deportation. Ontario accounts for most of these cases, with 21,325 missing persons, followed by Quebec, with 6,109 cases. This revelation comes at a critical time as the Trudeau government aims to reduce permanent resident targets from 500,000 to 380,000 by 2026. The documents also show that over 457,000 people are currently in various stages of deportation proceedings, highlighting significant challenges in Canada’s immigration enforcement system.
