The Minister highlighted that 60% of current immigration is dedicated to economic immigrants, a proportion he considers “unprecedented” compared to similar countries. While acknowledging immigration’s role in Canada’s economic stability during the pandemic, Miller emphasized the need for a “thoughtful” approach to future immigration policies, considering factors such as housing pressure and affordability concerns.
