On August 7, 2024, the provincial Government of New Brunswick announced a comprehensive action plan to bolster the early learning and childcare sector. Spanning from 2023 to 2026, the plan delineates key objectives and priorities, aligning with three federal agreements: the Canada-New Brunswick Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care Agreement, the Canada-New Brunswick Early Learning and Child Care Bilateral Agreement, and the Canada-New Brunswick Early Learning and Child Care Infrastructure Funding Agreement. Education and Early Childhood Development Minister Bill Hogan highlighted significant progress, including adding 3,400 childcare spaces, updated wage grids for educators, and a notable reduction in turnover rates among early childhood educators.
