On March 1, 2024, Marc Miller, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), launched the Canada–Finland Youth Mobility Agreement, which was signed on May 19, 2023. This agreement allows Canadians and Finns aged 18 to 35 to work and travel in each other’s country through the International Experience Canada (IEC) Program or its Finnish counterpart. This initiative, celebrating 77 years of diplomatic relations, strengthens bilateral ties and provides cultural exchange opportunities. Investing in youth is seen as a step towards a more interconnected global community. Canada continues to promote cultural exploration and connection for its youth and welcomes international youth to experience Canada’s diverse culture.
