Education can help you gain up to 25 points in the Canada Express Entry system. As a foreign student, you’ll need to complete an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) for immigration purposes. Getting a higher education level will yield maximum points, so if you are pursuing immigration, don’t forget this crucial step. Work experience is also important when it comes to boosting your chances; one year of work experience in the relevant field grants 9 points, whereas 6 years or more bestows 15 points. Having an employment offer in Canada is a big plus and could add 10 points to your total score but is often difficult to secure. Finally, adaptability can offer you 10 extra points – these are based on language proficiency and the educational achievements of your spouse if they choose to immigrate with you.
