On May 23, 2022, Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), issued a statement to mark the start of Citizenship Week. He celebrated the Citizenship Week of Canadians. This year, Canada marked the 75th anniversary of the first Canadian Citizenship Act, which was then replaced with the Citizenship Act in 1977. It was a monumental moment in Canadian history that shaped the identity all Canadians share nowadays. The Minister encouraged all Canadians to take part in building a strong, inclusive, and prosperous Canada.
