The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has successfully negotiated with federal authorities to restore 1,000 economic immigration spaces that were previously cut. The agreement brings the province’s total allocation to 2,525 spaces for 2025, following earlier concerns over a 50% reduction in regional immigration programs. The restored spaces will primarily boost the Provincial Nominee Program to 2,050 positions while maintaining 475 spaces under the Atlantic Immigration Program. This adjustment aims to address critical labour shortages in the healthcare, education, and construction sectors.
