Over 85% of these nominations were awarded to temporary foreign workers already established in Alberta, aligning with federal government requirements for work permit support letters. The program demonstrated its commitment to retaining skilled workers by processing 924 nominee applications from individuals whose work permits were set to expire in 2024. AAIP issued 777 work permit support letters to existing foreign workers, ensuring their continued contribution to Alberta’s economy. These support letters will facilitate nomination assessments in 2025 or 2026, maintaining workforce stability in the province.
