Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced it will not accept new applications for the Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) in 2025. The government plans to focus solely on processing applications submitted in 2024 and handle up to 15,000 sponsorship cases. This decision aligns with a 20% reduction in permanent resident targets for 2025. However, Canadians can still reunite with relatives through the super visa program, which allows extended visits of up to five years at a time.
