Henley & Partners, a residence and citizenship advisory firm, has placed the Canadian passport seventh in its global ranking of 199 passports for 2025. Based on data from the International Air Transport Authority, the Henley Passport Index evaluates multiple factors, including visa-free travel availability. Canada shares its seventh position with Malta and Poland, all offering visa-free access to 188 out of 227 destinations. Singapore leads the ranking with access to 195 destinations, followed by Japan with 193. Finland, France, Germany, Italy, South Korea, and Spain occupy the third spot with 192 destinations. Notably, the United States experienced a significant drop in its ranking, plummeting from second to ninth over the past decade.
