The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) demonstrated unprecedented effectiveness in safeguarding national security throughout 2024, significantly increasing enforcement activities across all sectors. Operating across 1,200 entry points, the agency’s 8,500 frontline staff processed over 4.5 million commercial trucks and facilitated the entry of more than 80.5 million travellers – a 9% increase from 2023. The agency expanded its capabilities by adding 500 new officer trainees and 18 detector dog teams while maintaining a robust international presence with 60 officers stationed in 35 countries to ensure border security from abroad.
