The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has announced the opening of modernized border crossing facilities in Sainte-Aurelie, Quebec. This $4 million investment, part of the broader Land Border Crossing Project, aims to enhance the traveller experience and equip border officers with improved infrastructure and technology. The new facilities, which began operations on November 6, 2024, represent the first implementation of CBSA’s Base Compact model, designed for remote, low-volume areas. This upgrade underscores the agency’s commitment to balancing security with environmental standards while improving operational efficiency.
