Recent data from Statistics Canada reveals a significant demographic shift in Canada, with millennials emerging as the largest generation. From July 2021 to July 2024, over 1.1 million people joined the millennial cohort, representing a 12.2% increase. This growth, driven entirely by international migration, has made the millennial generation 1.4 times larger than it was in 2004. The influx of young immigrants has also led to a slight decrease in the country’s median age, now at 40.3 years. However, experts caution that this trend is temporary, as population aging remains an inevitable long-term demographic reality for Canada.
