Canadian Islamic History Month celebrates health and healing contributions

Premier Ranj Pillai of Yukon has issued a statement recognizing October as Canadian Islamic History Month, highlighting this year’s theme of Health & Healing. Established in 2007, the month-long observance aims to promote understanding and appreciation of Muslim Canadian communities’ diverse experiences and contributions. Pillai emphasized the significant role of the Yukon Muslim Society, comprising about 150 members, in enriching the territory’s cultural landscape. The Premier called for a renewed commitment to fostering understanding, unity, and appreciation for all faiths while combating intolerance and Islamophobia in Canada’s multicultural society.
