As we enter the final quarter of 2024, Canada’s Express Entry system continues to evolve, with recent trends suggesting a shift in invitation patterns. After a slight disruption in the bi-weekly draw schedule in September, immigration experts are now forecasting approximately 30,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to be issued in Q4, averaging around 10,000 per month. While lower than Q3’s robust 41,413 ITAs, this projection still outpaces the first half of 2024. The focus is on the Provincial Nominee Program and Canadian Experience Class draws, with a continued emphasis on category-based selections, particularly favouring French language proficiency. As Canada approaches its target of admitting 120,000-125,000 permanent residents through Express Entry this year, potential applicants should stay alert for possible STEM and healthcare-specific draws in the coming months.
