Indian nationals seeking temporary residence in Canada face unprecedented delays in visa processing times. Recent data from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) reveals a significant increase across various visa categories, including visitor visas, super visas, study permits, and work permits. The processing time for visitor visas has more than doubled since July, now taking 112 days. Similarly, work permit processing has been extended to 28 weeks, up from 19 weeks in July. These delays are attributed to a surge in applications, increased scrutiny, and policy changes, causing frustration among applicants and potentially impacting travel plans, academic pursuits, and job opportunities for thousands of Indians.
