In response to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, Canada has announced financial assistance for Palestinians fleeing Gaza. Immigration Minister Marc Miller revealed that arriving Gazans will receive transitional support to cover basic needs such as food, housing, and clothing. This initiative is part of Canada’s broader efforts to aid those affected by the crisis, including providing temporary health coverage, settlement services, and work permit options. As of October 5, 2024, over 4,000 applications have been processed under the temporary resident pathway for Palestinian extended families in Gaza, with 334 individuals already arriving in Canada under this policy.
