Newfoundland and Labrador’s immigration minister, Sarah Stoodley, is set to visit the United Kingdom this week, attending immigration fairs in Milton Keynes and London. The trip aims to capitalize on the UK’s changing immigration landscape, with a net migration of 685,000 in 2023. Newfoundland and Labrador sees this as an opportunity to attract skilled professionals to the province, particularly in high-demand sectors such as healthcare, early childhood education, and residential construction. Minister Stoodley will also meet with the High Commission of Canada in London to further support these recruitment efforts.
