Residence and citizenship advisory firm Henley and Partners has ranked the Canadian passport as the seventh most powerful globally in 2024. Based on data from the International Air Transport Authority, this ranking considers various criteria, including visa-free travel options. Canadian passport holders can travel visa-free to 187 countries and have additional work and study opportunities in many of these nations. The passport also allows for dual citizenship, providing further benefits. This is the second consecutive year Canada has held this spot, tying with Czechia, Hungary, and Malta. Singapore retained the top position with visa-free access to 195 countries.
