Report shows strong growth in New Brunswick’s economy and population

The 2023 Economy in Review report reveals significant advancements in New Brunswick’s economy, highlighted by population, employment, and investment gains. Province’s Finance Minister Ernie Steeves noted the province’s 1.3% economic growth, consistent with 2022. New Brunswick’s population surged by 3.1%, reaching an all-time high driven by immigration. Employment climbed 3.5%, hitting a record 386,500 jobs, while the unemployment rate dropped to a historic low of 6.6%. Investment in building construction soared to $3.8 billion, marking a 9.3% increase, with total capital investments reaching $5 billion.
