Effective July 1, 2024, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program’s Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills stream has been updated by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD). The eligibility list now includes additional occupations for positions outside the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), such as shippers and receivers, railway yard maintenance workers, and aquaculture labourers. One occupation, “other trades helpers and labourers,” has been added for roles both inside and outside the GTA. These changes, influenced by fall 2023 consultations, aim to address feedback and do not impact existing applications.
