Ontario announced an update for employers with mobile workers

Ontario released an update for the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program’s (OINP) Employer Guide regarding the minimum employee requirement for employers with mobile workers. The update provides clarity for businesses, such as those in the construction industry, that may have employees working across multiple job locations. Under these new guidelines, the minimum number of employees at a given location where a worker performs their duties or reports for work can include onsite workers and those who report there. The term “report to work” is defined as either the location of the worker’s immediate supervisor or manager or the location of the administrative office where the worker receives their assignments. The minimum employee count for such locations remains at five for those within the Greater Toronto Area and three for locations outside of it.
