On May 3, 2024, New Brunswick welcomed more internationally trained nurses, enhancing the province’s healthcare system. Villa Providence was among eight nursing homes hiring French-speaking nurses from a recruitment mission to Belgium and Morocco. This initiative resulted in 140 job proposals, 58 from Villa Providence. Since 2019, approximately 1,400 international nursing professionals have migrated to New Brunswick. To be eligible, nurses must satisfy the Nurses Association of New Brunswick’s standards. These efforts are part of the province’s strategy to address the healthcare staff shortage. The recruitment of international nurses not only diversifies the workforce but also ensures the provision of quality healthcare services to the province’s multicultural population.
