On March 15, 2024, the Government of Ontario introduced the 2023 nomination results of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). The OINP experienced an unprecedented demand in 2023, leading to the biggest number of nominations in its history. Last year, Ontario issued 16,506 nominations under the following streams:
Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream – 1,122
Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills stream – 443
Employer Job Offer: International Student stream – 856
PhD Graduate stream – 422
Master’s Graduate stream – 5,407
Ontario’s Express Entry Skilled Trades stream – 3,017
Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities stream – 4,985
Ontario’s Express Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream – 251
Entrepreneur stream – 3
In 2023, OINP selected candidates with employment offers from over 1,500 companies spanning various sectors in Ontario. Notable industries benefiting from OINP nominations included manufacturing, professional services, scientific and technical fields, construction, healthcare, and social assistance. Last year, Ontario invited 21,997 candidates under the nine streams of the OINP.
