The IRCC has significantly increased planned admissions for Start-Up Visa applicants, with numbers set to increase to 3,500, 5,000, 6,000 and 6,000 in 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026, respectively. As of October, 1,000 new permanent residents arrived via SUV in 2021, setting the pace for possibly 1,200 by year’s end. This would be a 108.7% increase from the 575 new residents in 2020. Ontario and British Columbia are the most popular destinations for these entrepreneurs.
