On December 13, 2023, the Canadian government published an update regarding the temporary special measures introduced to support Iranian nationals and measures in response to the 2023 earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria. The update indicates that Iranian, Turkish, and Syrian nationals who have applied under these temporary special measures can leave Canada while their application is being processed. However, they must be in Canada with valid temporary resident status to benefit from these public policies’ benefits.
