Yukon’s Premier Ranj Pillai met with Consuls General from the Philippines, Indonesia, and Japan in Vancouver. Premier Pillai discussed streamlining immigration for Filipinos and attracting skilled workers to fill employment needs with the newly confirmed Consul General of the Philippines, Arlene Magno. Hendra Halim, Consul General of Indonesia, and Premier Pillai continued discussing Indonesia’s interest in the Yukon’s mining and technology sectors, student attraction, and economic immigration opportunities. Premier Pillai also engaged with the Consul General of Japan, Kohei Maruyama, on tourism, critical minerals, student attraction, Arctic cooperation, and cultural landscapes.
