On May 12, 2023, Harjit Sajjan, Minister of International Development and Minister responsible for the Pacific Economic Development Agency of Canada, announced a $12 million investment in S.U.C.C.E.S.S. to provide pre-arrival services to new immigrants. The funding is part of a two-year extension of Pre-Arrival Contribution Agreements, totalling over $60 million for 15 service provider organizations until 2025. These organizations are based in British Columbia, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Ontario, and internationally. In 2001, the government of Canada extended funding for pre-arrival services to other categories of immigrants, whereas they were initially only available to refugees.
