On March 16, 2023, Marie-France Lalonde, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), concluded her visit to Vancouver. The Parliamentary Secretary met with various immigration stakeholders, international students, alums, and international student advisors to learn about their experience studying and living in Canada. Furthermore, she conversed with Professor Antje Ellermann and graduate students from the University of British Columbia Centre for Migration Studies to learn about the current issues in Canada’s immigration and asylum system and possible opportunities.
