On March 23, 2023, Manitoba held a new invitation round in the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). In round #173, the MPNP held a new occupation-specific candidate selection under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba (SWM) stream and invited 266 applicants who scored 612 points and above. Manitoba also issued 200 LAAs in the regular SWM draw. The minimum score for the LAA in this category was 672 points, 3 points fewer than the previous draw. In the Skilled Workers Overseas stream, MPNP issued 48 LAAs to candidates invited under the Strategic Recruitment Initiative. The lowest score in the SWO category was 708 points, 42 points more than in the previous draw. In addition, 52 invitations were issued in the International Education Stream. Manitoba has issued LAAs to 566 candidates, including 82 Express Entry candidates for this round. In 2023, MPNP invited 2,780 candidates, and 359 of them received invitations in the Express Entry.
