Recent data from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) reveals that the number of foreign nationals in Canada as temporary workers skyrocketed to a new all-time high last year. By the end of 2022, the IRCC had granted 608,420 work permits to foreign nationals through the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) and International Mobility Program (IMP). This is an impressive 47% growth in work permits issued to foreign nationals compared to the previous record-high of 414,000 granted under these two programs in 2021.
