On February 23, 2023, Manitoba held a new invitation round in the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). In round #169, the MPNP held the first occupation-specific candidate selection under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream and invited 207 applicants under the following National Occupational Classification (NOC) 2021 minor groups:
- Transport and transit drivers (73300)
- Retail and wholesale trade managers (60020)
- Nursing and allied health professionals (31300)
- Assisting occupations in education (41109)
- Secondary, elementary and kindergarten schoolteachers (43100)
- Hairstylists and estheticians (63210)
- Automotive service technicians (72410)
- Paraprofessional occupations in legal, social, community and education services (42200)
- Retail salespersons and non-technical wholesale trade sales and account representatives (64100)
- Office support and court services occupations (14100)
Manitoba also issued 298 LAAs in the regular Skilled Workers in Manitoba draw. The minimum score for the LAA in this category was 693 points, 27 points fewer than the previous draw. In the Skilled Workers Overseas stream, Manitoba issued 27 LAAs to candidates invited under the Strategic Recruitment Initiative. The lowest score in the SWO category was 721 points, 12 points more than in the previous draw. In addition, 51 invitations were issued in the International Education Stream. Manitoba has issued LAAs to 583 candidates, including 140 Express Entry candidates for this round. In 2023, MPNP invited 1,570 candidates, and 232 of them received invitations in the Express Entry.
