According to a 2019 global survey by Pew Research, Canadians supported the notion that immigration is beneficial for making their country stronger. Moreover, in 2020 Gallup ranked Canada as one of the world’s friendliest nations towards immigrants. To further demonstrate this point, last September, an Environics Institute poll revealed that 58% of Canadian citizens supported increased levels of immigration into the country. Even as the world has grown more distrustful of immigration, Canada remains steadfast in welcoming immigrants. Most Canadians embrace them into their neighbourhoods, have no concerns regarding social integration, and view migration as integral for the nation’s future.
