The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons will fast-track the certification of healthcare professionals

In the wake of Canada’s doctor shortage and criticism regarding their policies that discriminate against non-domestic medical graduates, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons is reforming its rules to make it simpler for international physicians to work in Canadian hospitals. The college, an organization that establishes standards for medical specialists such as surgery, cardiology and emergency medicine, has come under tremendous pressure to find ways to more efficiently assess foreign-trained physicians and determine if they can take the certification exams.
