On September 13, 2022, the Government of Canada launched a new online asylum application (eApp) through the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) Portal, replacing the Canadian Refugee Protection Portal (CRPP) as the primary method to submit an inland refugee claim. Asylum seekers who had submitted a claim through the CRPP did not need to fill out a new claim through the new eApp and could submit their applications until December 31, 2022. In accordance with the Treasury Board’s Web Accessibility Standard, IRCC has established an alternative process to accommodate those with disabilities or any other special requirements, considering requests on a case-by-case basis.
