Applicants interested in the Parents and Grandparent Program (PGP) must submit online applications via the Permanent Residence Portal before 11:59 pm EST on December 24, 2022. To be eligible to apply, applicants must first receive an invitation. The online application is a two-step process: the applicant must submit their request to sponsor their parent or grandparent and then have the parents or grandparents apply for permanent residence status. The competition is intense this year, as IRCC plans to choose only 15,000 grandparents and parents from the 155,313 possible sponsor applications. Of the selected potential sponsorships, 23,100 will obtain invitations for application in 2022.
