A recent study by the Conference Board of Canada has found that most international students who come to one province on a study permit tend to stay in the same province for additional studying or working periods. Quebec had the highest retention rate of international students at around 85%. Additionally, Manitoba and Alberta saw their rates go above 80%. British Columbia, Ontario, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Saskatchewan experienced retention rates between 70-80%. Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick, as well as three territories, retained 60-70% of students.
