Thunder Bay business leaders are thrilled by the extension of the RNIP

The recent extension of the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has excited Thunder Bay’s business leaders and economic development officers. Charla Robinson, president of the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce, tweeted her excitement upon hearing that RNIP would be extended in Thunder Bay and other regional communities. In 2022, the economic development commission has recommended 175 candidates for permanent residence, which puts it on track to reach its target of 250 recommendations. This is likely to increase next year’s allotment.
